Himmeli Ornament Kit - Ball

  • Traditional Finnish ornaments, updated. The Germanic word "Himmeli" means "sky," or "heaven." What better theme can there be for your home decorating, wedding, and holiday style? Solid Oak kits make it easy to enjoy these decorations that are as beautiful as they are fun to create.

Enjoy them simply as made, or use to hold and display your favorite air plants, dried flowers, or other small decorative accents.

The purity of these geometric shapes - traditionally crafted from natural wheat straw or reeds - is now more durable and long-lasting. Raw brass metal tubes are pre-cut to the needed lengths. Strong, but easily worked metal wire holds the pieces together. Jewelry chains and matching ornament hooks are included.

The brass will take on a rich patina as it ages. Simply polish and coat the tubes with a clear protective finish if you prefer the shiny golden color.

In other words, this DIY kit has all the materials you need to create heirloom quality ornaments that will easily be the highlight of any tree or window. This kit makes three "Ball" ornaments, as pictured.

    Each kit includes:
    - Brass tubes.
    - Wire.
    - Chain.
    - Ornament hooks.
    - Easy to follow, illustrated instructions.

Approx. size of each ornament = 3.25 in. (8 cm) top to bottom.
Tools needed = Ruler, wire cutters, chain-nose pliers. Optional: nylon-jaw pliers are helpful for straightening wire.
Approx. time need to create = 30 minutes per ornament.
Experience needed = Basic skills (measuring, cutting and twisting wire, following directions.)
